Repair

Repairs are a constant with boats. The repairs could be woodwork on wooden or fiberglass boats. The main causes for repair are damage from weather, accidents, and wear due to use and time.  Making a repair involves figuring out the reason for the damage.

• Once the reason is determined then the damage and also possibly the cause of the damage can be fixed. more
• For example, the damage could be a rotten frame caused by a leaking deck. In this case it is necessary to replace the frame and stop the deck leak.
• Sometimes the construction on a boat is not suitable for the use the boat gets and it is necessary to repair with a modified construction method

Current Projects

Spring 2007

El Presidente, a 90 foot Mathis-Trumpy Ex-Presidential Yacht was in dry dock in Sturgeon Bay, WI. We replaced planking on both sides of the stern and a plank amidships port and starboard, and we replaced two floor timbers.
